SHERLOCK HOLMES I’M REALLY HAPPY FOR YOU AND IMMA LET YOU FINISH, BUT BATMAN IS THE GREATEST DETECTIVE OF ALL TIME
OF ALL TIME
Hmm. Writers who use Jack the Ripper in novels that acknowledge the existence of Sherlock Holmes feel compelled to invent complicated reasons why he can’t even look at the case because it’s a given that the most infamously unsolved mystery of all time would be too easy for this character to solve.
Characters like the Riddler who are compelled to leave truthful clues keep Batman busy for issues.
Well, if we’re gonna just go off Jack the Ripper, Bruce actually solves that in Gotham by Gaslight.
Yes, and it took him long enough it made for an interesting story. The logic with Sherlock Holmes is that he would solve it so rapidly we’d have at most two pages, using one and a half for Watson whining like an old woman.
