Dude, Superman is weird. The X-Men are weird. Star Wars is weird. Weird is not a bad thing for genre products. Weird is feature, not a flaw. Weird is what makes it a genre product. Weird is good.
And Wonder Woman is very simply explained:
In three thousand years, only one woman has left the hidden home of the Amazons. This is her story.
