Things I realized re-watching Granada Holmes
1) A disproportionate number of male Sherlock Holmes villains get done in because they assume a woman they’ve treated like shit won’t turn on them. 2) The canon had a femme fatale already, which was why the Granada writers felt no need to remake Irene Adler to fit that stereotype. They just adapted the story with Isadora Klein. This sort of sense, using what’s actually there...

I am falling in love with Kyle Rayner.
darkestelemental616: Slowly but surely, I am growing to love his character in ways I had never thought possible. Much like the Robins in terms of Dick Grayson, Hal Jordan was always my Green Lantern. Coming back into comics years after the fact left me with no Hal Jordan at all and three utter strangers. I hated them all on principle. Read More

How to play the Granada Holmes Drinking Game:
supersonicbionic: Take a sip for the intro, because goddamn, is that intro ever fucking beautiful. Take a sip from your drink every time Holmes is needlessly dramatic. (Ex: Leaping from his seat at the dinner table to pose by the fireplace) Take a sip from your drink every time outrageous facial hair comes on screen (this only counts for the first appearance of its outrageousness) Take a sip...

leftinstitches: People have been saying that the first name Greg isn’t canon. In all actuality there are two detective inspectors in the books, DI Gregson and DI Lestrade. BBC/Moffat/Gatiss combined the two characters to create Greg Lestrade. And aren’t we glad? Just look at that silver fox! I’m with you that cutting out Gregson is probably where they got the first name, and we...

– Why Women Aren’t Crazy (via lagrandefille) I hate when people claim that women are crazy or complicated or don’t know what they want because fuck you. When a woman is vocal about her opinions, desires, feelings, you call her a bitch or crazy or hysterical. Women have been taught that the only way...

I think I'm cursed.
My first career field was in Aviation, an industry that’s pretty much down to the bare bones due to the security regulations enacted after 9/11. My second one is in the IT industry, which will be mutilated beyond all recognition post-SOPA. I expect I’ll have to cross-train again, but I’m afraid if I go to motor pool we’ll all suddenly stop driving.

Thought of the Day
fyeahlilbitoeverything: speedforceorg: Does anyone else find it odd that the same Geoff Johns who wrote Ignition to demonstrate why the Flash shouldn’t be slow, decompressed and dark, would go on to write such slow, decompressed and dark stories as Flash: Rebirth, The Dastardly Death of the Rogues (which at least wasn’t so dark, but was definitely decompressed), The Road to Flashpoint and...

lankyguy: threestories: Here is where I write a generic post-ironic comment vehemently agreeing, as well as a pithy insight about the banality of pop culture intended to distract you from the fact that I read all this crap daily anyway.
